About The Artist
Angeline Frost is an award-winning artist from the heart of Flint, Michigan. India ink and a Tachikawa dip pen are her weapons of choice, having been introduced to the art of ink illustration at an early age through Manga and Silver Age comic books. Angeline's "Dark Shojo" art style draws from Ralph Bakshi films, mangaka Mitsukazu Mihara, Mesoamerican codices and comic artist Neal Adams. Her charming fantasy art pops with dramatic inked linework, showing Angeline's love of human anatomy and elaborate costumes.
A natural artist since childhood, Angeline began her technical training at the Flint Institute of Arts. She studied oil painting in the VADC's Fine Arts program and held an internship position at the Greater Flint Arts Council in 2012. Angeline also worked with the city of Cape Coral, participating in many art shows and gallery receptions at the Cape Coral Art Center. She would win Best in Show for her painting Thomasina in the juried exhibition Art Focus 2025. Other awards include the VADC's Gold Award, 2nd place in Witching Hour: Phobias, Merit Award for the multimedia piece BabushCat Lantern, and Honorable Mention for a white pencil on black paper portrait of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Angeline now operates across Michigan as an independent art instructor hosting acrylic painting workshops. She's always creating new artwork for ongoing projects, commissions, exhibitions and community events, so keep in touch!
